Ryan Epps Home for Children began in a rented home in the Cazeau community. This is where we began to love each child as they became part of the family. They later moved to another rented house a few miles away at Bon Repos. That is where the ten children and Yvon's family were living at the time of the January 2010 earthquake.None of the family was injured, but the house was too severly damaged for the family to stay there. They moved to the yard of Andre Lefort, where they lived in tents for 7 months. By God's grace and through the work of His people, two metal buildings were completed on property at Michaud following the earthquake. The first building, a church/school building, would eventually house the REHC family until a second building, the permanent home, could be completed. The children moved into the church/schoolin August 2010. In August 2011, they moved into the second building, their permanent home. In October 2011, the school was opened so that children in the Michaud community could join the REHC children in receiving an education.
